Our Bishop's Annual Appeal has a new name "The Diocesan Ministries Appeal". Whereas the previous name referred to the person making the request, the new name—Diocesan Ministries Appeal— puts the focus on the purpose of the appeal: to assist the people of our Diocese.
In addition to considering a one-time gift or a pledge payable over five months, parishioners now have the option of making a recurring monthly gift where your gift would repeat each month and continue from year-to-year.

"Love Thy Neighbor"
The Diocesan Ministries Appeal (formerly the Bishop’s Annual Appeal) is the yearly diocesan fund raising drive to support the day-to-day operations of ministries and services within our diocese. This year’s theme is “Love Thy Neighbor”.
The ministries and service supported by the Appeal include:
1. Catholic Charities: Catholic Charities receives the largest % of the Appeal funds. The services provided by Catholic Charities include:
a) Day Care for the working poor
b) Transportation for the Elderly and the disabled
c) Counseling services (family, substance abuse)
d) Group Homes for adults with disabilities
e) Food and Clothing panties
f) Home repairs for disadvantaged Seniors
g) After-school programs
2. Seminarian Education
3. Housing for retired Priests
4. Catholic Elementary School Support
All funds raised are used only for these causes. 93 cents of every dollar goes directly to supported causes, which is well above the guidelines set of the Better Business Bureau’s Wise Giving Alliance.
Helping people and catholic schools in profound need, making a residence available for our retired priests, and educating seminarians who will one day serve us are works that are only possible through our collective support of the Ministries Appeal.
If you receive a letter from the Bishop, please respond with donation. In October there will also be pledge cards provided during Mass to allow In-Pew participation. For more information, see HERE.
