This page chronicals the progress of our 2019 Capital Improvement Campaign. As you are probably aware, the weekly 2nd collection for 2019 is dedicated to support capital improvements for our Parish, the goal of which is to reduce our monthly operating costs.
The first "deliverable" (January 2019) was the replacement of all the lights in the Church with energy efficcent LED bulbs with uniform color temperature (warm). This was done inconjunction with the
NJ Clean Energy Program, which allowed us to capitalize on discounts of 70% from typical market prices. The pending replacement of the Parish Center A/C system will also be utilizing discounts from this same program (
Direct Install for commercial sites).
Spring is here and so is the replacement Parish Center A-C System. The old units were original to this 1975-era building. The new twin 10-ton Trane packaged units should be much more energy efficient (saving on our electrical costs). We again used discounts from the NJ Clean Energy Program to save 70% on the market costs of the new A-C system. Please continue contributing to our 2nd collection to help pay for the cost of these units and to allow us to address other important issues with our facilities.
Ok, now it is March and we are happy to announce the long awaited replacement of the Church vestibule HVAC system is completed, We tried repairing the old system (with donated labor), but found that the damaged to the old system was extensive (i.e., both condensor and indoor units) than we hoped. Thanks to Chris Morizzo for his repair efforts.
Thanks to Debbie Armeno (St. Jude Buildings and Grounds Committee) and
T. Daniel Specialty Heating (Landing) for making the installation of the new system happen.
